MARGARET SYS (BERNAERDT) (nee Roels) On Sunday, March 23, 2003, with her family by her side, Margaret passed away peacefully after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers disease. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Jan and Adrianna Roels; her first husband Raymond Bernaerdt; her second husband Joseph Sys; sisters, Christine Veltri and Ann Baert; brothers, Harry and John Roels. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her son Daniel Bernaerdt (Leanne) grandsons, Darren (Leanne) Bernaerdt of Steveston, BC; Gerrit and David Theule; son Ronald Bernaerdt (dear friend Julia Schoen) grandchildren, Daniel Bernaerdt (Sheila) and Beverly (Joseph) Wojakowski; great- grandchildren, Victoria and Alexander Wojakowski; sisters-in-law, Willy and Pat Roels (Anahein, CA) and many nieces and nephews. Margaret will be remembered by all who knew her, for her love of life, spirit, humour, generosity and dedication to family. The family would like to thank the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge, specifically on the fifth and eighth floors, for their loving care and particularly Nurse Margaret Menard and the Activity staff, Elaine Murray (retired) and Nanette Kanhai. Cremation has taken place and a service celebrating Margarets life will be held on Monday, March 31 at 11:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald St. A private family interment will be held at a later time. If friends so desire, donations may be made to The Arthritis Society, 105 - 386 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R6 or to a charity of ones choice. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: EDWARD J.
