DONALD ALVIN WESLEY SHORT Donald Alvin Wesley Short of Medicine Hat, AB, formerly of Dons Bus Sales, Winnipeg, MB and Swift Current, SK, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2003. Donald is survived by his son Stuart of Radcliff, KY and daughter Leslie of Airdrie, AB; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister Jean McLean of Redcliff, AB and brother Russell (Anne), and sister-in-law Velma all of Swift Current, brother-in-law Don Wightman of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wesley and Effie; wife Ethel; brother Earl; sisters, Thelma, Verva, and Frances. Donald was born February 5, 1926 in Haliburton district Mamouth Twp., ON. He served with the Royal Canadian Army 1944 to 1946 and married Ethel Beckett December 20, 1950. He was a life member and Past President of Royal Canadian Legion (Elmwood No. 9, Winnipeg), also a member of the Moose Lodge and The Eagles Club. Don and Ethel had a love and passion for fishing and had spent a lot of retirement time doing so. He also enjoyed the company of family and friends. As was his wish, cremation has taken place and no memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a Legion of your choice.
