HELEN KATHERINE BRISKE (nee JOHNSTON) With great sadness to her family and friends Helen passed away on March 27, 2003 at the Seven Oaks Hospital. She was born in Saskatoon, SK on July 2, 1911, raised on a farm near Janson, SK. Helen went to become a teacher and taught school in Saskatchewan and Manitoba where she moved to in 1946 with her husband and two children. She was a warm, caring, loving, compassionate lady, devoted to her family, and a very gentle person who loved to read. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Carreen Rose (Norman) brother Gordon Johnston (Jacqui) grandchildren, Holly Faby, Brian Rose, and Sharon Briske; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Alanna Faby, Sabrina and Nathan Rose; sister-in-law Emma Johnston; and daughter-in-law Maria Briske. Helen was predeceased by her husband Herman (2002), son Austin Briske (1994) and brother Walter Johnston (1971). A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, April 1 at 10:00 a.m. in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment to follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum.
