MARY ELEANOR MILLIDGE Mary Eleanor Millidge of Winnipeg passed away on March 26, 2003 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Winnipeg on July 12, 1915. Mary is survived by her sisters, Vera May Millidge and Muriel Anne Campbell. In 1951, Mary went to Australia and worked as a stenographer there, and also in New Zealand. She returned to Winnipeg in 1960 and spent the next three years in Winnipeg and Minneapolis. Then Mary went back to New Zealand and lived there, and in Australia, until 1976, when she returned to Winnipeg, where she resided until her death. Mary was in New Zealand and Australia for twenty-two years altogether. Mary became interested in genealogy and wrote two family histories after she retired in 1980. Mary also had a small book of poems printed in 1996. It was Marys wish that there be no service and cremation has taken place. Reflections on Death (a sonnet) Time marches on and some of us grow old, And others disappear along the way; Their lives the price that they have had to pay, Because the precious spark of life grew cold. Death gathers all of us into the fold. And, young or old, we do not have a say, And dont know when we will be be called away. When we are gone we may not be extolled, And very few may have to be consoled; But when our soul is freed, we hope it may Rest peacefully forever and a day. And even though a soul we cant behold, The souls of dear departed ones enfold And comfort us as we go on our way. By Mary E. Millidge (83 years old) WERESCHUK FUNERAL CHAPEL 447 Selkirk Ave. 582-0929
