WILLIAM PENDREE William Pendree passed away peacefully on March 26, 2003. Born October 25, 1918, he was raised on his parents farm at Beaufield, SK. He married his best friend and companion, Phyllis, in 1939. Bill spent the earlier part of his life farming and working for Co-op stores, and the latter years with Lakeshore School Division as Secretary-Treasurer, retiring in 1986. Bill and Phyllis moved to Winnipeg to enjoy their retirement there. They joined the St. Vital Seniors, bowled, and went square-dancing and travelling. Bill also belonged to a writers group and wrote many short stories and poems. He now leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 63 years, Phyllis; sons, Owen and wife Frances and Brian and wife Judy; daughters, Diane and husband Dennis and Marlene and James; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, which were the pride and joy of his life; also sisters, Jean and husband Bill and Lois and husband Ronald. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Reginald and Florence Pendree; and brothers, Reginald Jr. and Gordon. The family would like to thank Dr. Roy Smith and nurses and staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their kindness and care. A special thanks to Home Care and especially Glenda. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 2 at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception to follow.
