EDWARD CROPO With deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Ed Cropo, aged 88, who peacefully passed away on March 28, 2003. Ed was born in Winnipeg on September 23, 1914, retiring from Canada Post after many years of service. He, along with his family, was an integral part of the operation of the family-owned Cropo Funeral Chapel in the early years. His greatest joys in life were his immediate family as well as golfing both in Winnipeg and in Phoenix, AZ where he spent the winter months for the past 30 years enjoying the many friendships that were developed. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Josephine Cropo; his wife Tillie; son Brian; brothers, Thomas and Joseph; sisters, Stella Lucier and Helen Gallagher; brother-in-law James Gallagher; and nephew Peter Cropo. He will be sadly missed by his son Jim and daughter-in-law Rita as well as his many nieces, nephews and friends. Prayers will be held on Thursday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with funeral service the following morning, April 11 at 10:00 a.m., also at Cropo Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Fr. Gary Killen officiating. Entombment will follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. If friends so desire, donations in Eds memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
