LOLKE SOORSMA "LOUIE" March 7, 1915 - March 28, 2003 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. On March 28, 2003, Lolke Soorsma went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family. He passed away peacefully at the age of 88 years. Lolke was born in Niavier, Friesland, the Netherlands, the youngest son of Frederick and Jacoba Soorsma. He moved to Canada with his wife and family in 1951, making Winnipeg their home. Lolke will be missed dearly by Elizabeth Soorsma/Boersma, his loving wife of 60 years; his children, Fred and Eva Soorsma, Leviena and Bill Boychuk, Jackie and Jim Barkman, Neil and Nancy Soorsma; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 1 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Road with viewing one hour prior to service. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy.
