ALBERT JAMES WOODHOUSE October 13, 1918 - March 30, 2003 Peacefully on March 30, 2003, at the Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB, our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, Albert Woodhouse went home to be with his Lord, at the age of 84 years. Albert leaves to mourn his children, sons, Edward, Clarence (Violet), Russell (Marlene) and daughter Linda (Dwayne), all of Fairford; his stepchildren, Jimmy (Laura), Freddie, Charlie, Verna (Ronnie) and Annie, all from Shoal Lake, ON; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brothers, Gordon Stagg (Genevieve) and Ormond Stagg (Eileen) his sisters, Joyce Zettergren and Isabelle Penner. Albert was predeceased by his father Johnny Woodhouse and his mother Mina Woodhouse; his first wife and the mother of his children, Martha in 1965; Albert had remarried Anna from Shoal Lake, ON, who had also predeceased him in 1997; his brother Ben Moar; his sister Beatrice Redford; his daughter Evelyn, in infancy; his stepchildren, Pearl, Rhea, Dianne, Johnny and Herman. Albert was well known throughout the Interlake, where he had many friends. He had a great sense of humour and would constantly tease those around him. Albert would be helping others in their sorrows and in their happy times. For many years, Albert volunteered his services as an usher at weddings, gospel services, camp meetings, water baptisms, and funerals. On these occasions, Albert would generously and lovingly usher people to their seats and would also control traffic at these functions. He would volunteer his services at any community he was attending. Even though Albert was getting on in his years, he will be sadly missed at church functions with his generosity. The family would like to thank the Pinaymootang (Fairford) Chief and Council, the doctors and staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital and everyone that visited and made our father comfortable during his weak periods. Wake service will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Fairford House of Prayer, Fairford, MB, with Pastor Wilfred Bruce and Jim Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Helens Anglican Church Cemetery. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
