Betty is survived by her sons, Walter (Gail), Carl (Lynne), Neil (Gloria) grandchildren Todd (Kim), Ted (Suzanne), Maris (Mike) Thompson, Vicki (Guy) Philibert, Paul (Valerie), Ryan, Heather and Cameron; great-grandchildren, Chelsea Hagen, Carlie Hagen, Clayton Thompson, Summer Hagen, Jessica Philibert and Tether Hagen. She was predeceased by her husband Helmuth; two brothers Jack and Walter; and great-grandson Jonah Hagen. Betty was born on August 4, 1910 in Dunbarton, Scotland. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage and was able to visit her birthplace in 1985. Betty was a resident of the Weston Area and was a longtime member of the Sparling United Church where she was active in the Womens Group for many years. She loved spending time at her cottage at Laclu, ON with family and friends and would tell endless stories to her grandchildren while they were growing up. In later years, when Betty was unable to go to Laclu, she would bend anyones ear who would listen to stories of the lake. Her last visit to the lake was for her 90th birthday and she went for a swim. She had a real zest for life, remaining upbeat no matter what life threw at her. She was always looking at the bright side. The family would like to thank the staff at Lions Manor and the Convalescent Home for their care during Bettys stay there.
