WILLIAM (BILL) ROMANCE On March 31, 2003, in the company of his loving family, that meant so much to him throughout his life, passed away peacefully after an incredibly long and healthy life. Bill was born in Silver, MB December 21, 1920. He was predeceased by his parents Gregory and Alexandra, his brothers Walter, Mike, Peter, Paul; sister Julia. He is survived by his loving wife Lena; daughters Helen (Kenneth) and Shelley Chanas of Richmond, BC, Jeanette (Richard), Jody, Jan, Zedril of Winnipeg, MB, Linda (Elmer), Lorena, Barret Monchka of Selkirk, MB; sister Ann Knysh of Norwalk, CA; brother John of Winnipeg; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who managed to visit him in the hospital. Bill was a great community man. He was always there with a helping hand at all community functions, from the snowmobile poker derby to passing the sheaves at the annual threshing demonstration at the Silver Picnic. He was involved in the building of the present church and also the new Silver Community Hall. Bill loved the outdoors, hunting and he loved work. His favorite saying was "hard work never killed anyone." His five grandchildren were extra special to him and he welcomed them with arms outstretched. He loved his grandchildren and watching them achieve their goals was special to him. Prayers will be held on Friday, April 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Chapel. Divine Liturgy will be officiated by Rev. Fr. Harry Oliynek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5 at St. John the Baptist Church, Silver, MB. Interment to follow at the Silver Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jan Zedril, Barret Monchka, Christopher, Trevor, Stuart Melnychuk, Patrick Sydenham. Honorary pallbearer will be Jody Zedril. With her deepest regret granddaughter Shelley could not be with us due to her nursing finals. The family would like to thank Lorena, Dr. Mark Taylor and the wonderful St. Boniface nursing staff for letting us have our Dad a little longer. The daughters thank Aunt Sharon, Uncle Steve and Uncle William, for being there for our Mother at the farm during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Church, Silver, MB. We will all miss him dearly, but as the Lord opened the path for him this Lenten Season he listened and left us all behind. Vichnaya Pamyat Everlasting Memory Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
