Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLEONARD JAMES BAPTISTE Peacefully after a courageous battle on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Leonard James Baptiste passed away at the age of 58 years. Leonard was born in Ebb and Flow on August 25, 1944, spending most of his life in Winnipeg. Leonard enjoyed all types of sports. His greatest passion was the love he had for his grandchildren. He enjoyed getting together with his many friends. Leonard was always willing to lend a hand to all. He enjoyed helping people. Leonard was well known for his sense of humour. He leaves to cherish his beautiful memory, his wife Shirley; three children, Loretta, Karen (Wally) Swain and Edward (Annette) two grandchildren, Erika and Charity; two stepdaughters, Coreen and Gloria and their children; three brothers, Carl (Gwen), Stan (Marlene) and Brian; three sisters, Beatrice Bull (Delorme), Hilda Giesbrecht and Mary Lou (Walter). There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Winnipeg and Vancouver, a special niece Sandra Anderson in Florida. Leonard was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mary Baptiste; sisters, Gloria Baptiste and Darlene Smallegs; sister-in-law Flora; niece Theresa and brother-in-law John Giesbrecht. Prayers will be said Sunday, April 6 at 7:00 p.m. to 12 midnight at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Ave. at Parr, Winnipeg, MB. Funeral service will be held Monday, April 7 at 10:00 a.m. also at the chapel, with Pastor James Catcheway officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
