Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDR. JOHN EDWARD LESLIE BENDOR-SAMUEL Died at the Moog and Friends Hospice House, on March 30, 2003 following a brief but debilitating illness. He will be remembered with affection and gratitude both by his former patients at the Winnipeg clinic, where he practiced eye surgery from 1954 to 1973, and by the members of the congregations which he served as lay pastor throughout his life: the Oxlow Lane Baptist Church in Dagenham, England, the West Kildonan and St. Vital Baptist Churches in Winnipeg, the Westmount Baptist Church in Montreal, and the Community Baptist Church in Kaleden, BC. He was predeceased by his wife Martha (1902 to 1972). Surviving are his son Brian (Kerstin), daughter Beryl (Jim) Spicer, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grand-children. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 2 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Government Street, Penticton, where he was a long-time and devoted member.
