Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN MARIE KMITA (nee KRUK) After a brief illness on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the Altona Memorial Hospital, Jean Kmita of Winnipeg passed away at the age of 69 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Sebastian and Mary; brothers, Joe, John, Walter and Mike; sisters, Helen, Kay and Sophie; and nephews, Frankie, Ronnie, and Edward. Jean will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughters, Kim and Susan (Jay) grandchildren, Desiree, Dylan and Jasmine; sisters, Bertha and Lillian; and many nieces and nephews. Born in Winnipeg on November 5, 1933, Mom was a true Winnipegger at heart. She loved the city and although she moved a few times to Hamilton, she always returned to what she considered home. She worked in the field of bookkeeping... an area that she excelled in with her keen sense of numbers. Mom lived her life full of passion enjoying football games, bowling, dancing, singing and going off with her many nieces and nephews on casino trips. As a Mother she gave unconditional love to her daughters. And as a Nanny, she cherished her grandchildren... they were the treasures of her heart. A Cluster of beautiful memories Sprayed with a million tears, Wishing God had spared you But for a few more years. Thanks for the years You gave us And the Happy times we shared, We only pray that when you left us You know how much we cared. Our family chain is broken And nothing seems the same But as God calls us one by one, Our chain will link again. Mom, you truly left us a legacy of love. You were our mentor and our best friend. We will honour your memory by continuing that in our lives and our children. Prayers will be held at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., on April 8 at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service to follow at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Fr. Antoni Degustis, OMI officiating. Interment will follow at the Holy Ghost Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nick Wasylik, Derek Wasylik, Michael Wasylik, Dennis Kopychanski, Bruce Kruk and Kevin Nietrzeba. Special thanks to Dr. Kepron and all the nursing staff at the Health Sciences Centre and the Altona Hospital for the care that was given to Mom. We cannot express how grateful we are toward the Palliative Care workers from Altona for holding our hand and helping our family in every way for the last week that Mother was with us. We would also like to thank our family and friends for the support they have given. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
