Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HUGH ANDERSON After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sorrow that the family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather George Hugh Anderson, at the Victoria General Hospital on April 1, 2003. George was predeceased by his mother and father; sisters, Trudy, Dorothy and Christine. He is survived by his loving wife Doreen (Dodie) and his four children, John, Grant (Lorene), Laura (Dave), Dianne (Bob) grandson Devan and granddaughters, Annie and Shayla. He also leaves behind his brother Jack; along with several nieces and nephews. George was born on April 26, 1928, in North Bay, ON. The family moved to Winnipeg four years later where he remained for the rest of his life. He attended Grosvenor School, Robert H. Smith, Kelvin High and University of Manitoba. Throughout his business career he was involved in sales and management including 13 years as the owner of Motor Sales. George was a member of the Winnipeg Squash and Racquet Club for over 50 years. An avid player in his younger years, he continued play into his 70s. The family would like to thank Dr. Pacin for his care and understanding. Sincerest thanks to the nurses and staff at the Victoria General Hospital for their kindness and support. A memorial service will be held at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, in Winnipeg, MB, on Monday, April 7 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. Georges love of life was both inspiring and infectious. His great sense of humour, warm heart and generous spirit touched everyone that knew him. We will miss him with all our hearts.
