Date of Passing: Apr 28, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE DOREEN BROADBENT (nee JACKSON) Joyce Doreen Broadbent (nee Jackson), peacefully on March 28, 2003 at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital, with her children by her side, left us to join her Lord and loved ones. Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Vi; husband Mike; son Wesley; sister Shirley; and brother Fred. Joyce is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Art) and Lee (Dave) son Ian (Monique) and grandchildren, Matthew, Paul, Michael, Daniel, Donna, Kelly, Christopher, Phillip, Kristian, Ashely; and many nieces and nephews. Joyce grew up and attended school in East Kildonan, Winnipeg. She made many lasting friendships there, most notably her Girls Club with whom she kept in contact throughout her life. She married Mike and settled in Transcona where she was a stay-at-home Mom and active in the church. For many years she lived in Anola, MB until she moved to Duncan, BC in 1985, as it was her dream to live on the West Coast. She was an active member in the Duncan chapter of Womens Aglow and the Duncan Pentecostal Church. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest passion and she was always supportive. Mom was a very generous person and gave freely to the charities that touched her heart. She had strong Christian values which sustained her in her life and throughout her brief illness. Her many friends from church and the community were a great comfort to her. Our Mom was always there for us, and there has been no greater role model for life. She passed away with the dignity in which she lived. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the doctors who attended Mom, the ICU nurses and the many friends who helped Mom during her illness these past few months. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make a donation to the charity of your choice. There will be a Celebration of Moms Life at the Duncan Pentecostal Church, 931 Trunk Rd., Duncan, BC on Friday, April 4 at 1:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in Winnipeg at the Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. W., on April 24 at 2:00 p.m. SANDS OF DUNCAN 250-746-5212
