ALLAN GRANT It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Allan Grant, our dear husband, father, and grandfather, on April 4, 2003, after a valiant battle with leukemia. Al was predeceased by his parents, Eva and Soloman Granovsky; and his brother Cecil Granovsky. Al is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 56 years, Faye; his devoted daughters and sons-in-law, Maureen and David Milner, Shelley and Richard Ross, Karen Grant and Bruce Rayburn, Roberta and Lyle Silverstein, and Tracie and Morgan Ganetsky. Also left to cherish his memory are the joys of his life, his beloved grandchildren, Carli and Brian, Jana, Jennifer, Jared, Justin, Brittany, Braden, and Jori. He also leaves behind countless friends and family. Al was born in Winnipeg on June 17, 1924. He dedicated his life to his family, providing quiet guidance and constant love and support. He was gentle, sensitive, sentimental, and above all a true friend. He was dependable, caring, and was liked instantly by all who met him. His life was enriched by his special bond with his five daughters. Al had a soft spot for his daughters, and each will carry wonderful and lasting memories of him forever. Throughout his entire life, and especially over the past two and a half years, Al used his quiet strength and brave determination to overcome any hardships that came his way. Special thanks to Dr. M. Rubinger, Dr. E. Bow, all of the caring staff on D6 at the Health Sciences Centre, and the special people at CancerCare Manitoba. Thanks also to the staff on A4 at the Health Sciences Centre for their kind support and compassion. Funeral services to be held on Sunday, April 6, at 10:00 a.m. at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, 561 Wellington Cres. Pallbearers will be Jared Ross, David Milner, Richard Ross, Bruce Rayburn, Lyle Silverstein, and Morgan Ganetsky. Honorary pallbearers will be Morris Gardner, Bob Lenoff, Louis Roseman, and Al Zelickson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Als name to CancerCare Manitoba or ORT. We will remember Daddy forever as a true pillar of strength. He touched our lives like none other. He was our rock. We will always love you.
