MARJORIE McKENZIE (nee SMITH) Peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2003, Marjorie passed away at the Health Sciences Centre. Marjorie was born September 15, 1924 in Winnipeg and grew up in the Elmwood area of the city. Her husband Harry Whyte McKenzie predeceased her in January 2000. Marj will be loved and remembered by her daughters, Gail Dalman (Dave Couper), Pamela (Randy Van Caeyzeele) son Keith (Darlene Mulligan) grandchildren, Sean, Billie and Kelly. As a child Marj enjoyed summers at Sandy Hook in the cottage her father built with the Chalmers family, Fred, Susie, Kay and Alf. She continued to enjoy the cottage with her children, then her grandchildren for many more years. After completing school, she worked at R. Smith and Company until her marriage in 1948 to Harry McKenzie. She returned to work in 1970 at Marshall Wells and later on at Office Overload until her retirement. Mom was very proud of her Scottish heritage. She volunteered at the Pavilion of Scotland during Folklorama, and was a big supporter of the Heather Belle Pipe Band for many years. Mom and Dad had many opportunities to travel, the highlight being the "Grand Tour of Europe". Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 7 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Thank you to Alf Chalmers and Blanche Smith for the many hours they spent on the phone reminiscing with Mom. Uncle Jim and Auntie Marj, thank you for your love and support these past few years. If so wished, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
