ARTHUR HERBERT (HERB) WHYARD February 3, 1918 - April 3, 2003 Peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at the Riverview Health Centre, Herb passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly missed by his wife of 65 years Alberta; sons, Allan (Nan) of Brockville, ON and Bruce (Diane) of Winnipeg. Proud grandfather of Steven (Michelle) of Canberra, Australia, Christopher (Rhoni) and Ashley (Darren) of Winnipeg. Great-grandfather of Alexandra and Findley. Dad worked his entire career with Canada Wire and Cable. During The Second World War he served with the Royal Canadian Artillery. Dad enjoyed family and travelling between homes in both Ontario and Florida. He will be sadly missed, but his fighting spirit will live on and inspire all of us. We would like to express our profound thanks to the entire staff of The Riverview Palliative Care Unit, your tender care made a difficult time bearable. A memorial service will be held on Monday April 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
