LESLIE (LES) JULIUS ZILKIE It is with great sorrow we announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather, Leslie on Wednesday, April 2, 2003 at the age of 73 years. Les was born on April 11, 1929 in Ridgeville, MB. He married Joyce Kort in Winnipeg on August 31, 1957. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Joyce of 45 years of marriage; his three children, Sherilyn (Bernie) Lamoureaux, Wesley (Cheryl) Zilkie and Lori (Marlowe) Friesen; seven grandsons and one granddaughter, Matthew, Nicholas (Liang), Collin, Evan (Lamoureaux), Joshua, Carter (Zilkie), and Lyrik, Raelyn (Friesen). He is also survived by three brothers, Art Zilkie, Dan (Vera) Zilkie, of Kelowna, BC, John Zilkie of Winnipeg, MB; sister Eleanor (Bert) Milner of Edmonton, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Les had a servants heart and never missed an opportunity to be of help to anyone. He was a man of great faith who loved his Lord and shared it with all who knew him. Les funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 8 at 11:00 a.m. in Westwood Community Church, 401 Westwood Dr., with Pastor Roger Thiessen officiating. For those who wish, viewing will be held prior to the service. Interment will follow in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. "When through the portals of Glory Ive passed, I shall be changed to His image at last I shall be like Him in beauty to shine, Ever to live in His presence divine."
