GERALDINE "GERRY" MATHER (nee JOHNSON) With her family by her side Geraldine Mather passed away on April 3, 2003. Gerry leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 49 years Alfred, children, Timothy and his wife Gail and Susan Thorne and her husband David; grandchildren, Christopher, Collette, Colin, and Amy; sister Joyce Hobbins and her husband Tom; sisters-in-law, Georgina Johnson and Irene Mather; as well as nieces, nephews and many close friends. Gerry was predeceased by her parents Ray and Edna Johnson (Dodds), brother Donald Johnson and infant grandson David. Gerry was born in Abernathy, SK, moved to Winnipeg (in 1940) and grew up in the Fort Rouge area. Gerry worked at the Bank of Montreal for 14 years. Gerry and Alfred lived and raised their family in Fort Garry where they developed numerous lifelong friendships. She was involved in numerous organizations such as the Canadian Womens Club where she served as President for two years, the Chown Guild, the Toastmistress Club and was an active member for many years with the Progressive Conservative Party. Gerry touched the lives of many people in a strong and positive way and could always be depended upon to lend a compassionate ear or a helping hand to a friend in need. She had a special place in her heart for her children and grandchildren who benefited from and returned this love and affection. Flowers are gratefully declined.
