ANNIE REEVES 1904 - 2003 It is with deep sorrow that the family announces the death of Annie Reeves on April 4, after a short illness at the age of 98 years. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Helen Ryan (Ted), Joyce Tachinski (Joe), Evelyne Struthers (Doug) and Ron Reeves (Joyce) grandchildren, Vern Ryan, Cheryl Law (Brian), Jo-ann Zelen (Mike), Glen Tachinski (Christine), Margaret Lawson (Darrell), Liz Struthers, Ron Struthers, Kyle Reeves (Amanda) and Ronna Neale (James) her great-grandchildren, Meaghan and Mandy Law, Peter and Alexandra Zelen, Xander, Victoria, Kennedy, and Jackson Tachinski. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her husband Sidney in 1971, her grandson Gordon Struthers in 1978 and by her parents, brothers, and sisters. Annie was born in Llangollen, Wales on August 17, 1904. Her early years were spent in County Cavan, Ireland. The family immigrated to Canada in 1910 and settled on a homestead in Piney, MB where they experienced the hard work and isolation of pioneer life in Canada. Annie married Sidney Reeves in 1927 then lived on the their farm in Piney until Sids passing in 1971. She then made her home with her daughter Joyce (Joe) until her passing. Annie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was the heart and soul of the family. She had a great zest for life which was an inspiration to all who have known her. She was keenly interested in sports, loyal fan of the Bombers, Jets, and Moose. She loved travelling, a highlight being a trip to her birthplace in Wales and the ancestral home in Ireland. She loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed her summers at the cottage at Buffalo Point, where she pursued her favourite pastimes - berry picking, bird watching, playing cards, and taking an active part in family gatherings. The family would like to thank the staff of the Victoria Hospital for their loving care - especially Paul - Annies "guardian angel". Funeral service will be held in Piney at the Piney Community Church at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8. Viewing will take place prior to the service. Flowers are gratefully declined.
