ALVINA WELZ Sadly, on April 7, 2003, at the East Gate Lodge in Beausejour, MB, Alvina Welz, aged 83 years, beloved wife of the late Emil Welz, passed away. She was born on March 18, 1920 on the family farm in the Oldenberg area to Frederick and Olga Wolfram (nee Nast). Later in years she was united in marriage to Emil. They settled in Seven Sisters Falls, MB where together they owned and operated their business and raised their family. Later Alvina was employed with Manitoba Hydro, retiring in 1986. To her family she was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was always willing to help whenever she could. Alvina leaves to cherish her memory her son Walter (Jan) daughter Gloria (Ernie) and son Donald (Nadine) grandchildren, Shawn (Tammy), Jason and Wendy, Douglas, Brent (Andrea), Donna, Bridget (John) and great-grandchildren, Dallas, Carly and Bryce. Also surviving is her sister Pauline; and brothers, Albert and Rudy. She was predeceased by her husband Emil; sisters, Martha, Emily, Lillian, and Helen; and by brothers, Henry and Gus. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Paul Lutheran Church, River Hills, MB, with Pastor Don Reimer officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday evening from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB, and also at the church one hour prior to service.
