MARGARET SLESSOR (nee McDONELL) On Monday, April 7, 2003, surrounded by her loved ones, Margaret peacefully passed away at Concordia Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sons, Norm (Sharon), Jack (Sabrina) and Scot (Donica) her daughter Christine (Barry) and her daughter-in-law, Jennifer. Margaret is also survived by her sister Celestine Nott; her brother Arnold McDonell and grandchildren, Danny Jr., Danna, Ayla, Chloe and Sophie. Margaret was predeceased by her husband George and son Danny. Margaret will also be missed by longtime friends, Isabelle, Jane, Sheila and Jeanette. She was born November 26, 1930 in Portage la Prairie, MB. Margaret was a passionate award-winning baker. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed playing crib at the Transcona Legion. Margaret was a caring mother and grandmother and a dedicated homemaker that looked out for her family first. Margaret retired after 10 years of working at Park Manor Personnel Care Home. The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff on the West 3rd floor at the Concordia Hospital for their compassionate care. Prayers will take place at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 10. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11 at Saint Joseph the Worker Parish, 505 Brewster St., at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Wenceslao Rebillaco officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society of Manitoba or charity of choice. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
