Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFLORENCE CARLSON September 28, 1924 - April 9, 2003 Suddenly and peacefully at Concordia Place in Winnipeg, Florence, formerly of Gunton, MB passed away. She will be sadly missed by her loving family: Carol (Ron) Kozial, Reg (Linda), Joan (Bill) Jeffery, Ron (Vicky), Wendy (Cliff) McIntyre, Kim (Brian) Stout. Grandchildren include: Debbie (Trevor), Dean (Margaret), Corey (Carol), Roben (Cam), Aaron and Alix; and eight great-grandchildren. Florence was predeceased by her husband Everett; and her sisters, Elma and Oneitta. She is survived by her sister Lillian; and her two brothers, Melvin and Jim. Florence was born in Eston, SK and spent her early years on the farm there. After losing her father, the family moved to Barwick, ON. Florence began work at Loneys store in Emo, where she eventually met Everett. Shortly after their marriage, the happy couple headed west to the Greenwood, MB area where their farming and family life began. They remained here for 55 years and raised a proud family of six children. Florence was active in several community organizations. These included the local ladies auxiliary, the Gunton Community Hall, the Interlake Riding Club and the Teulon Ladies Curling Club. Most of her time was spent in the day to day functioning of a large family and farm. Her house was always a welcome place for young and old alike. Great food, good times, and lively music were an integral part of any gathering at Florence and Evs. Florences love of song, dance and the piano added to everyones enjoyment. A memorial service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon, MB on Monday, April 14 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in the Windsor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hunter Memorial Hospital, Teulon, MB or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Many thanks to MacKenzie Funeral Home for all the arrangements and care.
