ANDRE DUPONT It is with great sorrow that we announce the tragic and sudden passing of Andre Henri Joseph Dupont on Sunday, April 6, 2003. Andre was born on October 24, 1981 in Winnipeg. He is the loving son of Louise and Ephrem Dupont of St. Vital, the caring and giving brother of Nathalie and Christian, the beloved grandson of Mathilde Gautron and Jeanne Dupont. He also leaves to cherish his memory a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, along with many, many friends. Andre was predeceased by his grandfathers, Henri Gautron and Maurice Dupont and also by several great-aunts and great-uncles. Andre was a strong, energetic and resourceful young man who was continually seeking new adventures and challenges. Upon graduation, Andres hard work at various jobs allowed him to follow his dream of cycling throughout Western Europe not once, but twice. He made new friends easily while discovering different cultures and different languages. He returned with a new appreciation for his country, his family and a desire to better discover his homeland and himself. Andre etait un adepte de sports. De sa tendre enfance a ces derniers jours, il a joue plusieurs sports dequipe tels le hockey, lacrosse, le soccer, etc. Un mordu des Canadiens, il ne manquait pas les joutes ni les discussions post-joutes avec ses oncles. Plusieurs passions lanimaient dont la musique, le velo, le camping, les langues et la jonglerie. Cette derniere lui apportait beaucoup de fierte. Il nous a fait preuve de ce talent au Festival du Voyageur et sa renommee commencait a se faire connaitre. Au moment de son deces, Andre travaillait a lecole Christine-Lesperance comme auxiliaire. Il prenait a coeur son travail aupres des jeunes. En plus, Andre poursuivait ses etudes au College Universitaire de Saint-Boniface. Le sourire accueillant dAndre lui donnait la facilite de se faire des ami.e.s dont plusieurs de differentes nationalites et cultures. Ils garderont de merveilleux souvenirs de leur ami Andre. Join us for prayers and for the celebration of Andres life on Thursday, April 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg (982-7550). Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Eugene Catholic Church, 1007 St. Marys Rd., Winnipeg. Cremation has already taken place. A private interment will be held at a later date. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association, Manitoba Division, 836 Ellice Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3B 1Y4 or to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support and wishes to have all his friends consider themselves as honorary pallbearers. Keep on cycling Andre! Bon voyage!
