HELENE THERESE MARIE KOWERCHUK (nee HEBERT) May 27, 1932 - April 6, 2003 After a courageous battle, Helene, aged 70, passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre on April 6, 2003. She is survived by her husband Peter; son Wayne (Carina) of Washington State; son Edwin (Heather) with grandchildren, Conrad and Kirrie of Calgary; daughter Diane (Harald) with grandchildren Tara, Aaron, Jeremy, Joseph, Trinity and Nicolina of Texas; daughter Denise (Claude) with grandchildren Jason, Tim and Rachel of Winnipeg. She also leaves to mourn Michael and Richard of Toronto and Carol-Anne of Winnipeg. Her parents and three sisters predeceased her. Helene enjoyed doing arts and crafts, volunteering, playing cards with the Parkside Seniors Club and Riverside Social Club, and found great joy with her angel collection. In the past years, she especially enjoyed spending time with her 12th grandchild, Rachel, whom she called her own special angel. The family wishes to thank Dr. Mulder, nurses and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview for their care and support. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Friday, April 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Donations in Helenes memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
