She will be forever treasured and deeply missed by her daughters, Shirley (Gilles), Carol (Don), and Brian (Monique) grand-children, Shannon, Chris, Marc, Patty; and great-grandchildren, Apollo, Veronique, Chasey and Julianne. Marie is survived by her sisters, Godlieve (Joe), Margaret (Roger), Madeline (Robert), and Bertha (Lucien) and brothers, Cyril (Agnes), George (Lorna), and Edmond. She will also be fondly remembered by many relatives and good friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Irma and Gustaaf; sisters, Alice, Irma and Irene; and brother Charlie. Marie was born in Winnipeg December 29, 1920. She grew up on the Model Dairy where she worked hard all of her young life. She was very proud to say that she and her father milked 76 cows by hand twice daily. A loving and generous woman, Marie liked nothing better than to be surrounded by her family and watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the angels in Ward 3B at the St. Boniface General Hospital for their compassion and caring towards Mom and her family. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 9 at 11:00 a.m. at Mary Mother of the (Roman Catholic) Church, 85 Kirkbridge Dr., Winnipeg. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Maries memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or the St. Boniface General Hospital, Ward 3B where a new stretcher is required.
