Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSINA MYRTLE "MYRT" ASHLEY On Thursday, April 10, 2003 at Riverview Health Centre, Rosina Myrtle "Myrt" Ashley passed away at the age of 80 years. She was born on January 9, 1923 at Seaford, Sussex, England. She was one of seven children, all of whom were accomplished musicians. Myrt learned to play the piano and the ukulele at an early age, and music played an important part throughout her life. She met her husband, Bruce Ashley, a Canadian soldier who had been stationed in Seaford during the Second World War. The couple were married on April 17, 1943. Immediately following the war, the couple and their first two children left England to settle in Winnipeg. Myrts love of music and unusual sense of humour endeared her to those close to her. She is survived by her sister Violet Lauer (Seaford, England) husband Bruce Ashley; and children, Robert, Adrian, Wayne and Susan Ashley (Vancouver). Also, three grandchildren, Lauren Ashley-Vaughan (Vancouver), Angela Schweymaier (Windsor, ON) and Bridgette Ashley. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
