KENNETH A. MCCOLM November 14,1921-April 9, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of their beloved husband and father, Ken McColm on Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Ken leaves to cherish his many memories, his wife of 52 years, Margaret; two sons and one daughter, Ed (Sherrell) and their son Lee; Bruce, Marcia (Bruce) Forbes and their three children, Shannon, Katie and Kelsey; as well as one sister-in-law Joyce Glasgow. Ken served proudly in the Royal Canadian Navy from May 1941 to September 1945. After the war, he enjoyed a long career with Manitoba Hydro from which he retired in 1980. Ken enjoyed many summers at the family cottage at Lester Beach. He was a Past Master of the Windsor Masonic Lodge, as well as a member of the Ritualistic Unit of the Shrine. He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, White Ensign Club, and the Hydro X Club. Ken was an avid volunteer at the Museum of Man and Nature for over 18 years, and will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to extend special thanks to Chaplain Eleanor Brownlee and the emergency staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. A celebration of Kens life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14 at the St. Marks Anglican Church, 19 St. Marks Place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kens memory to the Khartum Shrine Patient Transportation Fund, 1155 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B9.
