Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDANIEL BURNS October 4, 1927 - April 9, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Daniel Burns on Wednesday, April 9, 2003. Daniel will forever be cherished by his loving wife Jenny of 51 years. As well as daughters, Jan Vermette (Paul) and Sheila MacCoy (Pat) grandchildren, Lenny (Shar), Sheila T. (Ken), Sheena, Tiffany, Brennan and Thomas; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Jacob and Keegan. Also left to mourn is Daniels brother Frank Burns (Maureen) and brother-in-law Donald Rankin, among various nieces and nephews. Daniel was predeceased by his parents, Kathleen and Hugh-Patrick and brothers, Hugh-Patrick and Thomas as well as sisters, Mary, Catherine and Marie. Daniel was born in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. Daniel lived and worked in Scotland until immigrating to Canada in 1957 to his time of death. "Scotty" was employed at Winnipeg School Division No. 1 until his retirement in 1986. His passions in life were his family, travel, Robins coffee and old movies. Daniel will forever be remembered within our hearts. All people in attendance are considered Honorary Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Daniels name to the Kidney Foundation or a charity of your choice. Memorial service will be held on Monday, April 14 in the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Garry Memorial Park.
