DALLAS ALGERA RACE On Friday, one day after his 91st birthday, surrounded by the love and prayers of his family, Dal died. He was predeceased by his brothers, Bill of Rainy River and Orville (Bones) of Redditt. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Theresa; two sons, Dennis and Gene (Rita-Mae) grandchildren, Judith Anne (DArcy), John (Jeanny) and Katherine (Andrew) and five great-grandchildren. Dal spent his early years in Rainy River, ON, where he developed a life-long love of Lake of the Woods and where he met and married his sweetheart Theresa. At the height of the depression, he was thrilled to be accepted as an apprentice in the motive-power shop at the CNR in Transcona. He loved his time in the shops and retired from his position as foreman in 1969. Retirement was equally fulfilling for Dal and Theresa. They built a home in Minaki to take care of the warmer months and travelled to Florida every winter for twenty years to enjoy new friends and a warm climate. Dals ability to fix anything that needed fixing and his pleasant nature assured many fine companions and memorable times. He delighted in the company of his growing extended family. We all give thanks for a life well lived. A funeral service celebrating Dals life will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 11:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, located at 680 Archibald St. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank the many caring staff at the Riverview Health Centre for their attention to his needs in the last year. Their professional, compassionate care made a difficult time much easier. The Coutu family in care of arrangements: EDWARD J. COUTU LTD. 680 Archibald Street 253-5086
