MARGARET SHARP DEY WALKER Peacefully Margaret went into the arms of her Lord on Monday, March 17, 2003 at Central Park Lodge, Rexdale, ON. Margaret was born December 1, 1907 to John and Elizabeth Walker, the eldest of nine children. Marg was predeceased by her parents; brothers, George and Wilfred Walker; sisters, Hilda Summerly and Eleanor Trudell. She grew up and went to school in the North End of Winnipeg. She worked for Coulter and Proctor, Barristers & Solicitors, for many years. Margaret was on the ship the "Athena" that was sunk at the beginning of the Second World War. Upon her return to Winnipeg, she worked for a while for the Winnipeg Police Department. In 1945 she moved to Toronto where she worked for Fasken, Campbell, Godfrey, Barristers and Solicitors, as a bookkeeper for 25 years. Marg was always involved in church work... in Winnipeg at St. Giles United Church and in Toronto at Weston Baptist and Royal York Baptist churches. Margaret was always fond of gardening and loved her African Violets. She will be lovingly remembered by brother John (Irene) sisters, Edna (Gordon) Hunter, Helen Carter, Audrey (Louis) Ducharme; sisters-in-law Bea Walker and Lil Walker; brother-in-law Pat Trudell and many nieces and nephews. A special thanks and appreciation to Linda and Doug Ellsworth and family for watching over Margaret in Toronto. Linda was like a daughter to Margaret. Thanks also to the staff at Central Park Lodge in Rexdale, ON. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Memorial Garden. Flowers gratefully declined. If you wish a donation can be made to a charity of your choice.
