PEARL BASS October 13, l915 - April 13, 2003 Suddenly, on Sunday, April 13, 2003, after a short illness, at the young age of 88. Pearl was predeceased by her beloved husband, Allan "Tex", in 1973. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always showing kindness and compassion for other people. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Carol, son-in-law John Amos, beloved grandson Allan, brother Lyle Thompson, brother-in-law Tully Uster and her very best friend, Fanny Brotman, with whom she loved to go out with every day for coffee and conversation, during a friendship that lasted a lifetime. Pearl loved life and lived everyday to the fullest, laughing and joking. Funeral services were held yesterday at the Chesed Shel Emes, with interment at the Shaarey Zedek Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Dr. Robert Kaufmann, Gary Kaufmann, Ed Steinberg, Michael de Luca, Don Bass and Mel Myers, Q.C. Many thanks go to the staff of the third floor and I.C.U. of the Victoria General Hospital for their outstanding care and attention. Pearl will be dearly missed but not forgotten. Those wishing to honour her memory may make a donation to a charity of their choice.
