JOSEPH LEPHOLTZ Peacefully and surrounded by his family, our beloved Dad, Brother, Grandpa and Great-Grandpa passed away at Oakview Extendicare on Sunday, April 13, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Joseph Lepholtz was born on June 19, 1920 in Porosov, Poland. He immigrated to Canada with his family in 1928, where they settled on a farm near Minitonas, MB. As a young boy, Dad accepted the Lord and was baptized. He also helped on the farm and developed his carpentry skills. In 1944 Dad married Martha Eisner and in 1955 Joe and Martha moved to Winnipeg with their two children, Shirley and Harvey. Upon arriving in Winnipeg Dad worked for a construction company and a few years later formed his own company, Lepholtz Construction. Mom and Dad also enjoyed travelling and spent many winters in Hawaii. Looking for a career change Dad joined Pic-A-Pop in 1971 and eventually became President, which he enjoyed for many years until his retirement in 1996. Dad was also a member of McDermot Ave. Baptist Church for almost 50 years where he and Mom made many close friendships. Dad was also a generous and giving man. Joe is survived by his daughter Shirley (Helmut) Sass; granddaughters Tannis (Todd) Goudy, Kendra (Jeff) Neustaedter, Shannon (fiance Robert McLeod), Holly (Erik) Bonstrom, Susan (Steve) Nachtigall, Lori (Kevin) Nachtigall; great-grandchildren Emma, Joel, Thomas, Mary, Chloe and Sara; sisters, Olga (Otto) Schlenker, Lydia Lepholtz, Elsie (Ernie) Rogalski, Violet (Eric) Kwiatkowski; brother, Ray (Miriam) step-mother Mrs. Frieda (Art) Neumann; also Carol (Egon) Ulrich; numerous relatives and friends. Dad was predeceased by his parents Ewald and Helen Lepholtz, wife Martha and son Harvey. Special thanks to the staff at Oakview Extendicare for their wonderful care.
