CORNELIUS THIESSEN Cornelius Thiessen (Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 80 Midland) (Christie Biscuits, Toronto and Winnipeg Plants, for 39 years), passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Monday, April 14, 2003. Cornelius Thiessen, in his 76th year, of Midland. Loving husband of Margaret Reta, dear father of Grant Thiessen of Saint John, NB, Patrick Thiessen and partner Debbie Lipka of Toronto, Margaret Thiessen and partner Ian Cameron of Mississauga, Nancy (Glenn) Verkindt of Erin, Susan (John) Kuchelema of Mississauga, Dolores Thiessen and partner Steve Drain of Barrie, Christine (Robert) Thiessen-Bangs of Winnipeg, Brenda DePledge and partner Rob Cressman of Brampton, Kathleen (Michael) Robinson of Mississauga, and Peter Neil Thiessen of Midland. Dear grandfather of Andrea, Michael, Nicole, Daelin, Michael K., Richard, Philip, Sean, Danielle and Carly. Brother of Frank of Calgary, Ike of Winnipeg, Mary also of Winnipeg and Susan of Calgary. Predeceased by his son Michael. The family will receive friends at the Lynn-Carson Funeral Home, 290 First St., Midland, ON, 526-6551 on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Margarets Catholic Church, Midland on Thursday, April 17 at 10:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Interment of cremated remains at St. Margarets Cemetery Midland later in the spring. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
