MARIE "LORETTE" LUCILE YVONNE RICHARDS (nee COUTU) Peacefully, at the Fort Garry Care Centre, Lorette passed away on April 14, 2003. She is survived by her son Joseph (wife Leslie) granddaughters, Alanna and Danielle; sisters, Margaret Simpson and Theresa Wyndels; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lorette was predeceased by her brothers, Phillip Coutu, Denis Coutu, Leo Coutu; and sister Cecile McLaren. Lorette was born in St. Boniface, MB on August 10, 1925, the youngest child of Philippe and Lea Coutu, owners of well known funeral firm P. Coutu & Co. After leaving school, she worked at the Metropolitan Theatre as an usherette, then was promoted to head cashier after taking accounting. She later worked for Paramount Pictures in the distribution of films. She married Arthur Joscelin Richards on November 22, 1957. Arthur was owner of Provincial Electric where Lorette later worked until her retirement. Lorette was quick witted with jokes and enjoyed humour. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victorys C.W.L. Lorette loved to golf at Charleswood and St. Boniface golf courses. The family wishes to express sincerest gratitude to the staff of the Fort Garry Care Centre for the excellent care and love Lorette received while there. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 16, at 1:00 p.m. in the Our Lady of Victory Church, 254 Arnold Ave., with Rev. Fr. Henryk Laciak and Rev. Dr. Patrick A. Morand celebrating. Interment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery, 506 Osborne St. P. COUTU & CO. FUNERAL DIRECTORS 156 Marion St., 949-4864
