WAI BONG (FRANK) WONG After fighting a lengthy illness, Wai Bong "Frank" Wong passed away peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre, Tuesday morning, April 15, 2003. Frank was predeceased by his parents. Lovingly missed by his beloved wife Wai; children, Mee Wah, Yet Ping Dr. Denny Wong; brother Wai Too (Anna) with Gary, Quan and Benny (Sher) and their daughter Sarah; brother Wai Hon with Kit Yee (Stanley) and Dou Wing; sister Selhun (Yan) Ma with Minnie and Irene (Kam) Lau with Frankie and Benny; sister Selfun Ma and family. He will also be missed by extended family and numerous friends. A hard worker all his life, Frank came to Canada approximately 50 years ago and started a restaurant business with his uncle in Calgary. He later started his own restaurant in Winnipeg and worked there until his retirement a few years ago. Frank was a good provider and always supported his children, nieces and nephews in their endeavours. He was especially proud of his son Yet Ping "Denny" who obtained his Ph.D. in microbiology a few years ago. The family would like to thank the Health Sciences Centre dialysis unit, located at Sherbrook and Notre Dame, for the care they have given to Frank during his illness. The family also thanks Dr. Penner and associates for their work and care during that time. To the nurses and doctors at Health Sciences Centre GD-4, the family thanks them for the care they gave Frank during his final days. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 21, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. A gathering of family and friends will follow in the Glen Eden Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, (Manitoba Branch), 200-55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3C 1L8.
