LARRY D. BARKER Peacefully, at home with his family at his side, on Saturday, April 19, 2003, Larry Barker, beloved husband and best friend of Judy, loving father of Wendy (Craig) and Jennifer (Anna) special grandpa to Patrick and Owen, slipped away from us. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brothers and sisters, Marie and Ted Searle and their children, Greg, Noelene, and Nathan; Doreen and Gordon (deceased) Watson and their children, Patricia and Aimee; Donna and Rick Beasley; Glen and Ene Barker and their children, Jordan and Tayler; Dale and Hugh Pattillo and their son Jaden; his special brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kathy and Rick; and the Legacy family. He was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Lillian Barker; and his daughter Nicole. Larry was a Professional Engineer in Manitoba and Ontario. He was the President of Toastmasters (Manitoba Morning) and he was a Queen Scout. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with Pastor Ted Searle officiating. A gathering of family and friends will also be held in the reception centre. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Larry to the Victoria General Hospital (Winnipeg), Oncology Department or to CancerCare Manitoba. The family would like to thank Dr. L. Leung Shing, Oncology staff, especially Dr. Ian Maxwell and Astrid at the Victoria General Hospital, Home Care staff, especially Evelyn.
