LORRAINE (LORRY) CARLISLE (nee PROTASAVICH) Peacefully on April 20, 2003, Easter Sunday, Lorry passed into the arms of Jesus Christ. Lorry thanks God for the gift of life and the time she spent with us. Lorry was born in Toronto in 1944. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Jessie and Victor Protasavich. Lorry fought a hard and difficult battle with lung cancer over the past 16 years. She was a true and great fighter against this terrible disease and won many bouts. We consider Lorry the Muhammad Ali of lung cancer and had many knockouts against this ugly opponent. After so many bouts she lost her final match and went down with dignity in her toughest battle. She was a very special person (one of a kind). There will never be another like her. She was beautiful, funny and loving wife, always making people laugh. She deeply loved her husband, children and grandchildren. Lorry was looking so forward to seeing her two future grandchildren but this was not to be. No one could have asked for a nicer person. It is extremely difficult to describe in words what a wonderful and beautiful person God gave to us. Gentle, loving, generous, caring, honest, funny and sincere are only a few words on the tip of the iceberg. Lorry loved her trips to Las Vegas and had many great times at Grand Beach with the gang. In her earlier years she loved to attend the horse races with Jim. She loved to attend Ryans Lounge and play the VLTs; she was friends with everyone there. The loss of Lorry will deeply affect many of her friends and it will be a great challenge for all of us to overcome her passing, but God willing, He will guide us through this very difficult time. Lorry, during her lifetime held several positions as a secretary, the last position with MPI. Lorry and Jim would like to thank MPI for keeping her on board for such a long period during her disability. Lorry is survived by her loving husband, Jim, for the past 40 years. Lorry, you have no idea how much Ill miss you. A piece of my heart is now gone. Lorry is also survived by her three children, Tracey Kulyk (Ed), James Carlisle (Petra) and Jody Kuzyk. She also leaves behind her five loving grandchildren, Jayde, Jordyn, Kennedy, Brady and Haley. She further leaves her sister, Vicky Safnuk (Lloyd), Adam Sedor (Helen). She will be missed by her brother and sister-in-laws, Jack Carlisle (Gulnar), Bill Carlisle (Ellen) Iris Moody and Ron Carlisle (Iris). She also leaves nieces, nephews and cousins. Lorry had many special friends during her life and will always be remembered for her great parties. These were her favourite times when she and all her friends were together. Lorry had a very special best friend in Pat Alexander. She thought the world of Pat, and they had so many good times together. Pat was there for Lorry during her good times and difficult times and never ever let Lorry down. Lorry says thank you Pat for being such a special person to her. Lorry would also like to thank her sister-in-law Iris, for her caring and thoughtfulness and being with her to the very end. She also would like to thank Janice and Bobby Lawson for their kindness. In tears we saw you sinking, We watched you fade away, You suffered most in silence, You fought so hard to stay, You faced your task with courage, Your spirit did not bend, But still you kept on fighting, Until the very end. Lorry, Ill love you forever and you will be in my heart for eternity. Your loving husband Jimmy Cremation had taken place and a memorial service will be on Friday, April 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel. Pastor Bill Lehman officiating. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
