Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARCELLE CHAMPAGNE (nee MEYER) Peacefully, after a brief illness with cancer, Marcelle Marie Champagne, nee Meyer, beloved wife of the late Dr. Reginald Champagne passed away at Saint Boniface General Hospital on April 20, 2003. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Edith, Agnes and Bruno Champagne; her son-in-law Mikhail Feldman; her grandsons, Frederik, Thierry, Matthieu and Nicolas Lesage. She is also survived by her siblings, Marie-Therese Brunet (Paul), Raymonde Bezely (Alphonse), Andre Meyer (Agnes), Jeanne Heiget (Joseph) and Auguste Meyer (Odile) and her sisters-in-law, Alice Meyer, Rose-Aimee Beaudette, Angeline Champagne and Fernande Champagne; and her brother-in-law Dr. Fortunat Champagne (Laurence). Born in Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB on August 6, 1922, Marcelle, a graduate of Normal School went on to be a dedicated teacher. After her husbands death she began teaching piano as a pastime. It was her greatest joy to see her young prodigies blossom and perform at her yearly spring recital. Her passion continued unabated until shortly before her death. Marcelle was a committed supporter of the arts and of "la cause francaise". In lieu of flowers, please make donations to La Maison Gabrielle-Roy, P.O. Box 133, St. Boniface, MB R2H 3B4. Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 24 at the St. Boniface Cathedral.
