HELEN PEDLAR Peacefully, and with her family at her side, it is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Helen Pedlar, age 87, on Saturday, April 19, 2003 at the Grace Hospital. Helen was our very special and dear Mom, Grams, Great-Grams, friend and neighbour. She had a very unique and loving way about her that was oh so very special and endeared her to all whose lives she touched. She was predeceased by her husband Walter; daughter Dawne and daughter-in-law Carol. Helen is survived by her daughter Edna Lee (Dennis) son-in-law Gerry Buchanan (Lynda) grandson Todd Buchanan (Krista) and granddaughter Tanis Cook (Cayce). She is also survived by her loving great-granddaughters, Kari, Samantha, Kaitlyn, Taylor and Kylea, whom she always referred to as her "ladies." Helen is also survived by her sister Phyllis Wegesser of Aldergrove, BC. Helen was a strong independent woman. Volunteerism was a passion in her life. She was a founding member of Shaughnessy United Church, life-long member of the Fort Rouge Legion, Branch No. 97 and a true blue Eatonian. Helen treasured her time spent with her family. Family gatherings, casino nights and doing lunch with the "ladies" were her favourite past times. She was always eager to play a game of "Ding." She loved music, singing and dancing. Helen enjoyed life and lived each and every day to the fullest. The family would like to thank Home Care, The Winnipeg Fire and Paramedics Service and the Doctors and Nurses at Grace Hospital, emergency department. Special thanks to Major Gordon Jarvis. "Mom go in peace and love, we will miss you oh so much, but know that Dad and Dawne will be there to greet you. We know in our hearts that Dad has saved the next dance just for you." Love always Memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, April 24 at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow.
