JOSEPH (JOE) ZUBRISKI April 29, 1916 - April 19, 2003 Peacefully at Selkirk General Hospital, Joseph passed away on April 19, 2003. He was born in Progress, MB, married in 1940 and together with wife Mary farmed until they retired to Winnipeg in 1979. During his lifetime his greatest joys were fishing, hunting and lastly driving his scooter. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 1987; daughter Lena; sons, Ronnie and James; companion Mary Hlatkey in 2000; parents, Wasyl and Stefania; brothers, Frank, Mike, Steve; sisters, Annie Smolinski and Nettie Sutyla; sons-in-law, Bill Lillies and Willy Chartrand. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his sons, John (Bev), Harry (Carol), Frank and Phillip (Rose) daughters, Rose Lillies, Jane Wasyluk (Frank), Garland, MB, and Pauline Chartrand, Quesnel, BC; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Peter, Arborg, MB, Paul, Regina, SK; and sister Jean Rents. Rev. Deacon Nicholas Kohuch will conduct prayers on Tuesday, April 22, at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 23, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Sophia and Pacific, Selkirk, MB with Rev. Fr. Harry Oliynek officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 4535 Main St., West St. Paul, MB. Pallbearers will be Russell and Chris Zubriski, Jeff Lillies, Kirk Zubriski, Adam Chartrand, Jonathan and James Wasyluk. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Diabetes Association.
