Christiana emigrated from Trinidad to Winnipeg in 1974. She lived an active life in Winnipeg, where she participated in a seniors group. One of Christianas greatest attributes was her love for God and her dedication to His church. She lived a spiritual and prayerful life and trusted in God for her existence. She began her spiritual journey as a member of the Legion of Mary, the Womens Confraternity, and served as a catechism teacher. Her spirituality was further enriched by the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement and the Secular Franciscan Order. Christiana found peace in daily prayers through devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Our Mother of Perpetual Help. Christiana, loving referred to, as "Mother" will always be remembered for her thoughtful, honest and caring attitude, which she shared with friends and her enduring dedication to her family. We wish to offer our sincere appreciation to the staff of St. Josephs Residence for their compassionate care given to Mother during her four and one-half years stay.
