Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH MARY TAYLOR Mom passed away peacefully on April 19, 2003 at Red River Place in Selkirk, MB, her safe haven since October 1997. Born on August 3, 1911 to Fanny and Henry Horn at Medora, MB and over the years made Winnipeg, Rivercrest and for the last five and one-half years,elkirk, MB, her homes. With her Best Buddy Edna, she joined the CWAC 18th Medical Militia for six and one-half years, retiring as Corporal. After working 17 years for Athletes Wear as their parcel post clerk, Mom could wrap a parcel that would survive, intact to any destination. She enjoyed her many trips to Hawaii, belonged to the WA Middlechurch Legion and later No. 2 Weston Branch, Winnipeg. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Deanna Valentine; sister Rita Evans; grandson Greg (Rhonda) Valentine; granddaughter Kathy (Roddy) Owens; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle and Hailey Valentine and Tyler and Ryan Owens; niece Donna (Art) Moore; Bryon (Shirley) Evans; Trevor (Steph) Evans; David Evans; sister-in-law Margaret Hotson; and her lifelong Best Friend Edna Carpenter. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Alex, son-in-law Bob Valentine, sister Eva Horn, brother-in-law Glynne Evans and sister-in-law Elsie Watson. The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful and caring staff of Red River Place Nursing Home who made Moms last years the best they could possibly be. Thank you to Dr. Lindenschmidt for his care and concern. We will be forever grateful to all of you. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St., with viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
