CECILY ANDREWS Peacefully after a brief illness, with her family by her side, Cecily Andrews passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2003 at the age of 78 years. Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband, Tom of nearly 57 years; daughter Pat (Brian) Michalski; sons, Gerald (Janet) and Neil (Susan) granddaughters, Sheila and Laura Michalski, Jennifer and Lisa Andrews, Amy and Alycia Andrews; brother-in-law Bob Andrews; niece Arlene (Patrick) Shirkey; as well as other relatives and many friends. Cecily was predeceased by daughter Susan (1953), sister Brenda, brother John both of British Columbia and sister-in-law Margaret Andrews. Cecily was born in Ontario on August 28, 1924. Upon the death of her mother, she and her siblings were raised by relatives in Vancouver. She met Tom, who was serving in the Air Force at the coast in 1944. They married in Vancouver on August 10, 1946 and returned to make their home on Moncton Avenue in Morse Place where Tom was born and raised. Cecily treasured the time spent with her family and was involved in all their activities. She and Tom enjoyed many trips throughout Canada. Tom and Cecily volunteered for many years at a number of nursing homes especially Fort Garry Care Home, Kildonan Personal Care Home, Concordia Hospital and River East Care Home. Cecily was a long-time member of St. Saviours Anglican Church as a choir member, Sunday School teacher and Superintendent and a member of the W.A.(A.C.W.). She will be remembered always with great affection and missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to thank all our friends and neighbours for all their love, support and prayers and also to Rev. Rick Condo for his visits, prayers and comfort. Many thanks to Dr. Ralph Wong and the staff at CancerCare (St. Boniface) and all the caring staff on 5A and 5E at St. Boniface Hospital. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, a donation in Cecilys memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. Memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26 at St. Saviours Anglican Church, Munroe and Grey.
