THELMA JULIA KARLOWSKY (nee POERSCH) My Mom passed away Monday, April 21, 2003 at the Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home in Carman, MB at the age of 80 years. She was predeceased by her husband Gustav; son Wilbert; parents, Alexander and Julia Poersch; brother Ansel; sister Emma Grabowski; nephews, Kyle Grabowski and Brian Poersch. She leaves to cherish her memory daughter Darlene Karlowsky of Winnipeg, MB; brother Victor Poersch of Carman, MB; brother Ginu (Gwyneth) Poersch of Nanton, AB; and sister Lil Henry of Starbuck, MB. Nieces, Bev Patton and Jean Berger of Nanton, AB; nephews, Russell Grabowski, Charles, Bobby and William Henry of Starbuck and Ken Poersch of Winnipeg. Also she leaves to mourn many cousins. Mom was born November 25, 1922 on the existing Laudin farm in Brunkild, MB. After marrying my Dad, they farmed in the Brunkild area till my Dads death in 1961. Mom remained on the farm till her first stroke in 1976 and in 1977 moved to an apartment in Carman, MB, residing there until 1999 when another stroke made it necessary to move her to her final home at the Boyne Lodge Personal Care Home in Carman, MB. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brunkild, MB on Saturday, April 26, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Fowlie-Neufeld and Pastor Jim Halmarson officiating. Reception to follow. A private interment will follow the lunch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Boyne Lodge, Box 1644, or to the Carman Health Auxiliary, Box 1025, Carman, MB R0G 0J0. My sincere thank you to my family and friends for all your support at this difficult time. To the staff of the Boyne Lodge, words cannot express how much I will always appreciate your efforts and compassionate care given to my Mom.
