Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDORIS MARY TURNER (DAVIES) Peacefully on April 22, 2003, Doris Turner passed away at the Grace Hospital after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Doris was born in 1910 in Otterburne, MB. She resided in St. Vital for most of her life and was a teacher at Windsor School. In her retirement, she served as Treasurer for the Ladies Auxiliary of the St. Vital Legion. Doris was predeceased by her loving husband Edwin in 1977; brothers, Harry, Charlie and Bob; sister Muriel; and nephews, Jim and Ray Davies. Doris was best known for her famous expressions, her love of cooking and gardening, her musical ability and her passion for teaching. She is survived by her daughter Diana Lautens (Morley) of Santa Fe, NM, her son John (Marjorie) of Knoxville, TN and her daughter Brenda Edmondson (Jim) of Winnipeg. She is survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and her niece Trudy Davies. A memorial service in her honour will be held on Saturday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. She taught us about love, hard work and being strong, To weather a storm when things go wrong.
