Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDGAR WALLACE BALLANCE Edgar Wallace passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2003 at the Brandon Regional Health Centre, Brandon, MB. Ed (Eddy) was born July 27, 1926 at Kaleida, MB, the eldest of six boys of William (Ted) and Violet Balance. Ed started out delivering groceries and milk for the Williamson brothers. He went on to do his apprenticeship with Central Sheet Metal as a plumber, tinsmith, pipefitter and furnaceman. He then worked for DND, Shilo as maintenance technician then supervisor. After 20 years 55 days with DND, he retired in 1991 and worked for himself until 1998. Ed loved to travel with Grace. He especially enjoyed their trip to Fiji and regular trips to Alberta and the West Coast. He also enjoyed a game of golf with family and friends, going to the Legion for the meat draws, playing bingo and a good game of Rummikub. Ed will be sadly missed by his wife, Grace, of 55 years; and six children and 10 grandchildren: Leonard (Rosanne) and their daughters, Jennifer and Candace; Murray (Karen) and their sons, Kale and Daniel; Garth (Penny) and their daughter, Jaimie; Barbara (Joe) Ksiazek and their children, Virginia, Bryant and Terence; Dawn (Ken) Penner; Jeffery (Tracey) and their children, Riley and Brooklyn. Ed was predeceased by his dad and mother; grandsons, Jay and Chevy; and his brothers, David, Keith and Sheldon. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel, on Friday, April 25 at 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel on Saturday, April 26 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Orton Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 727B - 10th Street, Brandon, MB R7A 4G7 or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Unit 3, 824-18th St., Brandon, MB, R7A 5B7.
