MARGUERITE WYNN ROSS Marguerite passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at the age of 94, at "Rideaucrest" Home, Kingston, ON. Predeceased by her loving husband in 1981, Air Commodore Arthur Dwight Ross, Marguerite will remain forever in the hearts of her children, Susan Dierks (Ted) and Nancy Baltzan (Dr. Richard) her stepmother Laura Wynn; her sister Lorraine Downing; her grandchildren, Douglas Irvine (Robin), Kenneth Irvine (Cordelia), Peter Irvine (Anna Maria), Pamela Sitak (Joel) and Stephanie Brennan (Niall) 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her sister Eileen Cox predeceased her. Daughter of Dr. Sam and Alice Wynn, Marguerite was born in Yorkton, SK, attended Ontario Ladies College, and after marrying Dwight in 1935, lived in many Canadian cities and on Air Force bases, as well as London, England. For more than 40 years, she spent delightful summers at the cottage, "Riversend," in Dwight, ON. Her generous volunteer commitments and warm hospitality wherever she lived endeared her to many friends across Canada and abroad. The family expresses heartfelt appreciation to the nurses and staff of "Rideaucrest" Home for their loving, tender care of "Mom" during the last years of her life. As well, we remember with much thankfulness the faithful care given by the late Mrs. Doris ODonahue. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 9 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Johns Anglican Church, Portsmouth, 41 Church St., Kingston, followed by a tea at the Senior Staff Mess at Royal Military College of Canada. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society at Rideaucrest Home, St. Johns Anglican Church, the War Amps of Canada, the RCAF Cadet league of Canada, the Corps of Commissionaires, or Royal Military College.
