MINA TRELEAVEN It is with great sadness that the family of Mina Treleaven announces her passing on Sunday, April 27, 2003, at the Grace Hospital. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her two children, Brenda (Bruce) and Brian (Mary) brother Albert (Mary) nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John (1986) and sister Lilian (1996). Mom was born December 14, 1919, near Rivers, MB. As a young woman she moved to Winnipeg and worked at Eatons. She married John on May 14, 1955, and they enjoyed 31 happy years together. Dad was a member of the Armed Forces, so we lived in France, Germany and Portage la Prairie before retiring in Winnipeg. Mom always made a home no matter where we ended up. Mom was an avid curler in her younger days and enjoyed reminiscing about shots made and games won. She golfed (Tuesday morning - 9 holes at John Blumburg), lawn bowled and alley bowled. Mom loved going on cruises and on trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii and to casinos south of the border. She always looked forward to seeing old friends at the Eatons retiree coffee parties. Mom made many lifelong friends through everything she did and will be sadly missed by all. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the staff of 3 West at the Grace Hospital for the compassionate care they extended to Mom and her family during her short stay. Special thanks to R.N. Karen and Dr. Borrett. A memorial service celebrating Moms life will be held Wednesday, April 30 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
